N is for Nest.

Little Writer for Kids is a free app on the iPad.  Clare likes this letter tracing game.  There are also numbers for tracing.  It fits along quite nicely with learning our letters.  We made a robins nest for the letter N.  Clare picked several pebbles "eggs"  from the driveway and painted them blue.  As we were walking around finding "eggs" we found a real birds nest in the grass.  (Seriously.  We did.  I can't make this stuff up).  We decided to make a nest for N because we had been watching a robins nest for a week or so before the babies hatched.  And sadly, one egg fell out of the nest.  But sweet Clare came to rescue and protected it with a bouquet of freshly picked dandelions.
