iPhone 4S For Sale

We are selling our iPhones.  We have a 4S in white that is 16GB, and we have a 4S in black that is 64GB.  We looked on eBay and Google at the going rates for used iPhones.  However, if you're our friend, looking at this sweet ad, then contact me and we'll come up with a friendly fair price.  Both phones are in excellent condition, and they were serviced by AT&T.  They come with the original box, cords, and cases.

PS:  We've moved.  I hope to get this blog updated next month!

Go Colts.

A few weeks ago we went to Indy with another couple (without kids).  We had an awesome time.  Aunt Jeanne and Grandma Carol watched our kids.  Our friends planned the trip.  We showed up and loved every minute of it.  When we got in their car, they had us pick a lottery ticket.  There were two winners for $120.  Great start!  We found our hotel, sweetly located next door to the Stadium.  Then off to Fogo de Chao for dinner.  I have never been there.  It was awesome!  When you turn your card to the green side, the servers come to you with many many many meat options.  I was a huge fan of the lamb t-bone.  The servers will stop delivering the meat to you when you turn your card to red.  This goes on until your little heart desires.  After dinner, we walked the city a bit to settle all that cow we consumed.  Then we played cards in our hotel room.  We learned a new game called Five Crowns.  It was a wonderful night.  The next morning, we went to church at the cathedral downtown, ate breakfast, and explored the stadium until game time.  Our seats were awesome, the weather was awesome (the dome was open for the game), the friends were awesome.  It was our first overnight trip without kids.  If Aunt Jeanne and Grandma Carol offer to babysit again, these trips will surely happen more often!

Goodbye Goats.

Our new neighborhood is not goat friendly.  We gave our three goats to guy in Ohio.  This was Clare saying goodbye to her goat friends.  She fed them special berry weeds for their last supper at our farm.  She has told us several times that she misses her goat friends.  They other day Daddy came home with a trailer behind the truck, and Clare asked if the goats were in there and if they were coming home to stay again.

Operation Sandbox. After.

I felt the sandbox project was successful.  Kids enjoyed their summer (and Fall) time in the sandbox.  It had the perfect amount of shade from the trumpet plants that feed a lot of hummingbirds.  All this just in time for us to move next month to Fort Wayne.  We're excited but will miss our 2 1/2 acres.

Operation Sandbox. Before.

Back in April, we decided the kids needed a sandbox.  (It was mostly my idea).  Steve agreed and kindly asked what he could do to help!  We had this random "gazebo" type thing in our backyard that has probably been there for 50 years.  We (I mean Steve) dug out the giant stepping stones.  We added a weed barrier.  And then off to the stone quarry for sand.  That's right, a stone quarry.  Because that's how we roll in the country.  Well, somewhat true, but also because it was 2 miles down the road, and we needed three ton of sand according to the measurements.  Hello... way too much sand.  But the kids thought it was a fun sandmound for a few days.  The sandbox was a huge hit for Luke throughout the summer.  Clare played in there on occasion but not near as much as her little brother.

Labor Day Weekend.

We stayed with my parents in Ohio over Labor Day weekend.  We saw a lot of our family and friends.  I saw my 87 year old Grandma Miller, and my 91 year old Grandma Wenzlick.  And a lot of my cousins and their kids.  My brother was visiting from Florida.  It was a nice weekend!  Clare and Luke loved Grandpa's golf cart.  We took many rides around town.  Clare also got to climb the fire truck and watch the parade (for a short 10 minutes, then she was ready to leave).  I was happy about that because parades are not fun for me.  I'd much rather cruise on the golf cart.

Another Average Day.

1) Luke and I painting while Clare was at preschool.  He likes to make hand prints too.  2) Clare's special way of eating raspberries.  3) A homemade pizza on a bagel, with a request for candles.  When Clare asked for candles, Luke said, "fire, please."

Z is for Zucchini.

Who doesn't decorate zucchini's freshly picked from the garden with Z foam stickers while sitting in their underwear?  I think we ended up making zucchini tots in the muffin pan with this giant zucchini.  (I am glad zucchini season is over).  We then used our new construction paper crayons to color zebras.  The crayons are awesome.  There were a $5 add on item with our last Amazon order.

Shaving Cream Paint.

A can of shaving cream from the Dollar Tree, mixed with a few drops of Crayola washable paint, equals foamy paint experiment.  Both the kids liked this type of painting.  They didn't mind the texture.  But they didn't show a ton of excitement.  They haven't requested this type of painting since we did this activity several weeks ago.  I think they'd rather use the old fashioned paint and simply make hand prints.

Pure Love.

Mini Pumpkin Donuts.

Visit takeamegabite.com for this delicious mini pumpkin donut recipe!  And they're super cute too.  We added some cream cheese frosting and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Clare requested a candle for the middle.  Why not?  Every mini donut has a built in candle holder.

Life is Normal.

1) Luke has mastered silly face.  I find several of these pictures on my phone when Clare is the photographer.  2) I took the kids to Pizza Hut buffet one afternoon after a visit to the Y.  It was a really random decision.  They actually did very well.  We rarely dine out so this was a treat for all of us.  Clare said she liked being a big girl at Pizza Hut (because she got to drink Lemonade - diluted with a lot of water).  3) Grandpa's 81st birthday cupcake.  I think we were able to squeeze about 20 candles on the cupcake.  4) We love corn on the cob at our house.  We are sad that corn season is over.  5) I gave Clare the freedom to paint one afternoon during Luke's nap time.  She will request a painting activity several times a week.  This time I gave her a little more freedom to explore herself.  She did great!  She did hand prints (mostly) by herself.

Y is for Yoga.

Y is for yoga, yellow, and yarn.  We downloaded a yoga app on the iPad that Clare can use herself.  We had fun until little brother decided to run off with the iPad while we were in the middle of a pose.  Later that day we colored yoyo's, cut yarn, and practiced our scissor skills while cutting yellow paint samples.

Desk Makeover.

Our friends gave us this desk (and a dresser, mirror, and night stand) for Clare's room when we moved into the farmhouse.  It's a very heavy set with solid wood.  I recently decided to paint the black and white set to a cream color that matched her daybed.  I painted the drawers light blue to add some color to her coral and cream room, but am not completely happy with the outcome.  I think I'll paint the whole desk blue, rather than the two-tone.  Suggestions, anyone?  I also painted over the black knobs with a dark brown spray paint, the same color as the chair makeover, which my mom found at a second-hand store.  It was an easy project, and an easy fix with a cost of only $4.

Pillow Roll.

I've seen these pillow rolls online while browsing various sites.  I thought it'd be easy to make one for Clare and Luke.  This one is for Clare, although I have not given it to her yet.  I picked four different fabrics and made pillowcases.  Then I sewed the pillowcases together.  I had four random pillows in the guest room, so I used those for this project.  Easy, easy.  Cute and simple.  Now I need to find some fabric for Luke's pillow roll.  (As if he'd be still and lay on it for more than one minute).
