Flappers.
The Victory Noll Center is home to several nuns in our neighboring town. We visit them from time to time, and we bring them baked goodies. I like seeing the kids involved with the Sisters. Well, every year, the VNC offers a free butterfly workshop. Last year we participated and the neighbor kids raised a monarch butterfly. Clare enjoyed watching the life cycle of caterpillar egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. She named the monarch Lolly. This year we decided to participate again. We raised the swallowtail butterfly. We watched it grow. We feed it our carrot leaves from the garden. We patiently waited until it came out of the cocoon. And then we identified it was another girl. Clare named her Flappers. She let it crawl on her before releasing it that day. It was a really fun experience. It's very low maintenance for the parents. I recommend this to anyone with little kids.
